Alen is an award-winning multimedia trans artist specialising in comics, illustration, and animation. He created the successful Webtoon True & Me, winning the EU-funded CRASH Project for queer comics artists, and has pitched original animations to BBC Studios and Glitch Productions.

- Partnership for LGBTI equality: implementing ECHR jurisprudence on sexual orientation and gender identity. 🟢 Best Practice
The project is a broad cooperation initiative between the ACCEPT Association and the Public Ministry (the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice), aiming to improve the implementation of ECHR decisions in Romania. Its key results include the training of hundreds of magistrates and police officers in investigating hate crimes, the publication of a specialized investigation manual and the launch of the national campaign “Protect All Families”. It is a standard of good practice in the way it facilitates inter-institutional dialogue to combat stigmatization and ensure real legal protection for the LGBTI community.

With four essential components, such as street signage, promotion on social media platforms, video content and radio messages, the campaign aims to achieve the legalization of civil partnerships and equal rights for all citizens of Romania.
The campaign is the result of a collective effort, in which numerous communication experts, as well as numerous creative, advertising and media agencies, participated, who created different types of messages to encourage acceptance and solidarity. Thus, a vibrant community of allies and people from the LGBTI community, who rally around the same values and the same goal: equal rights, was created.
